Smith & Wesson K Frame Thumb Piece & Nut – Blue Steel, Old Style

This factory original Smith & Wesson K Frame Thumb Piece & Nut Assembly is the external cylinder release lever and its retaining nut. The thumb piece is pressed to release the cylinder latch, allowing the cylinder to swing out for loading, unloading, and cleaning. The nut secures the thumb piece to the cylinder latch mechanism inside the frame. A worn, bent, or broken thumb piece makes normal revolver operation impossible and must be replaced to restore function.

Installation Note

Thumb piece and nut replacement is a relatively straightforward repair requiring removal of the cylinder and access to the latch mechanism. Professional gunsmith installation is recommended to ensure proper fit and smooth cylinder release without binding.
