Smith & Wesson K Frame Model 10-7 Thumb Piece & Nut Old Style .38 Special — Used OEM Part

Genuine Smith & Wesson OEM thumb piece and nut for the K Frame Model 10-7 revolver chambered in .38 Special. The thumb piece (also called the cylinder latch or cylinder release) is the knurled lever on the left side of the frame that the shooter presses forward to release the cylinder latch and swing the cylinder out for loading and unloading. The nut secures the thumb piece to the frame and maintains proper tension and alignment. A worn, bent, or broken thumb piece causes the cylinder to fail to release cleanly or to rattle loose during firing. This is the old-style thumb piece and nut specific to the Model 10-7 dash variant, in blued steel finish. This used OEM set is inspected and functional, manufactured to original S&W specifications and tolerances.

Condition: Used — inspected and functional. Some fitting by a qualified gunsmith may be necessary.

Finding Your Model Number

Swing out the cylinder and look behind the yoke on the frame. Model numbers were added starting in 1957–58. The dash number (e.g. 10-7) indicates the engineering change level and is stamped alongside the model number.
