Important: AirLite sideplates are specific to aluminum-frame J Frame models and are NOT interchangeable with steel-frame J Frame sideplates (e.g., Model 36, 60, 37). Frame material differences affect sideplate fit and screw hole alignment. Always confirm your exact model and dash number before ordering. To find your model number, swing out the cylinder and check behind the yoke on the frame.
Installation
Sideplate removal and installation requires proper technique to avoid frame damage — a qualified gunsmith is strongly recommended. Do not pry the sideplate; use the proper tap method. Factory replacement parts are manufactured to the same specifications, tolerances, and materials as the originals.
