This is a used original Smith & Wesson factory side plate for the Model 659 9mm semi-automatic pistol (2nd Generation, stainless steel). The side plate is a frame component that covers and retains the internal fire control parts on the left side of the frame. Removal of the side plate provides access to the trigger group, sear, and related components for inspection or service. This stainless steel part is a direct OEM replacement for the Model 659.
