Smith & Wesson Model 63 Side Plate – Part# 63154

This is a genuine factory Smith & Wesson side plate for the J Frame Model 63 revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle. An old-style used stainless steel part in serviceable condition — a cost-effective solution for replacing a damaged, cracked, or missing side plate on your Model 63.

The side plate covers and protects the internal lock work of the revolver. It must be properly seated and secured to ensure safe, reliable function. A damaged or ill-fitting side plate can allow debris into the action and compromise internal component retention.

Note: Side plates are frame-specific and finish-specific — stainless side plates are not interchangeable with blued or alloy-frame J Frame revolvers. Always confirm your exact model and finish before ordering. Model numbers are stamped on the frame behind the yoke when the cylinder is swung out. Pre-1957 revolvers may not have a model number — contact us with your serial number for assistance.

Installation

Do not pry the side plate — remove the screws and rap the grip sharply with a rubber mallet to free it. Reinstall carefully to avoid damaging the frame. We recommend installation by a qualified gunsmith if you are unfamiliar with J Frame disassembly.
