Smith & Wesson Model 51 Rebound Slide & Spring – Part# 51143

This is a genuine factory Smith & Wesson rebound slide and spring for the J Frame Model 51 revolver chambered in .22 Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR). An old-style used part in serviceable condition — a cost-effective solution for restoring proper trigger return function on your Model 51.

The rebound slide returns the trigger forward to its rest position after each double-action shot. The rebound spring provides the tension that drives this reset. A worn or broken rebound slide or fatigued spring results in a trigger that fails to reset, drags, or returns sluggishly — directly impacting double-action reliability and follow-up shot speed.

Note: The Model 51 is chambered in .22 Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR) — not .22 LR. It is a distinct J Frame configuration and parts may not interchange with other .22 LR J Frame revolvers (Model 63, 43, 317). Rebound slides are frame-specific and not interchangeable between J, K, L, or N Frame revolvers. Always confirm your exact model before ordering. Model numbers are stamped on the frame behind the yoke when the cylinder is swung out.

Installation

Rebound slide and spring replacement requires side plate removal and disassembly of the trigger group. We recommend installation by a qualified gunsmith to ensure correct trigger return tension and reliable double-action function.
