This is a genuine factory Smith & Wesson mainspring, stirrup, and swivel set for the J Frame Model 43 (.22/.32 Kit Gun Airweight) revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle. A used blue steel set in serviceable condition — a cost-effective solution for restoring your Model 43 Airweight's mainspring assembly.

The stirrup is the U-shaped link that connects the mainspring to the hammer, transferring spring energy to drive the hammer forward during firing. The swivel allows the stirrup to pivot smoothly through the firing cycle. Together with the mainspring, these three components form the core of the revolver's hammer-driving assembly. A broken stirrup, fatigued mainspring, or damaged swivel results in light hammer strikes, misfires, or complete failure to fire.

Mainspring components are frame-specific and not interchangeable between J, K, L, or N Frame revolvers. Always confirm your exact model before ordering. Model numbers are stamped on the frame behind the yoke when the cylinder is swung out. Pre-1957 revolvers may not have a model number — contact us with your serial number for assistance.

Installation

Mainspring, stirrup, and swivel replacement requires grip and side plate removal and disassembly of the mainspring assembly. We recommend installation by a qualified gunsmith to ensure correct spring tension and reliable hammer fall in both DA and SA operation.
