Model Compatibility Chart
| Model | Caliber | Finish | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model 10 | .38 Special | Case Hardened | Old style trigger; verify dash number before ordering |
This old style case hardened trigger is specific to earlier production Model 10 revolvers. Old style and new style triggers are not interchangeable. Verify your revolver’s dash number (stamped on the frame under the cylinder crane) before ordering. The hand is a separate component — ensure your existing hand is compatible with this trigger before installation. Also see Part #K101032 for the standard (non-case hardened) variant.
Function
The trigger controls the firing sequence in both single-action and double-action modes. In double-action, pulling the trigger cocks and releases the hammer in one motion while the hand rotates the cylinder. In single-action, the trigger releases the pre-cocked hammer. Worn or damaged triggers cause inconsistent pull weight, poor reset, and unreliable double-action operation.
Installation Note
Professional gunsmith installation required. Trigger fitting involves sear engagement geometry, trigger return, and timing verification with the hand and cylinder. Do not attempt without proper tools and training.
