The cylinder stop (also called the bolt or cylinder latch) is the spring-loaded component that indexes into the cylinder’s locking notches, stopping the cylinder precisely at each chamber position and holding it in alignment with the barrel during firing. The cylinder stop spring drives the bolt upward into the notch. Together they are essential for proper cylinder indexing and lockup. A worn or broken cylinder stop or spring results in cylinder over-rotation, misalignment with the barrel, or failure to lock. This is a genuine Smith & Wesson factory OEM part set in the old style configuration, blue steel finish.
Condition Note: This is a used part in good condition. Some wear consistent with use and age is present. Blue finish may show wear. Professional fitting and installation by a qualified gunsmith is recommended; cylinder timing and lockup must be verified after installation.
