The elevation click plug is the small detent plug that seats into the rear sight body and provides the tactile “click” feedback during elevation adjustments. It works in conjunction with the elevation screw and detent spring to index the sight at each adjustment increment and hold it securely in place. A missing, worn, or damaged click plug results in loose or non-clicking elevation adjustments. This is a genuine Smith & Wesson factory part manufactured to original specifications.
