The stirrup spring swivel is a critical component of the J Frame cylinder latch assembly, working with the stirrup and thumbpiece to allow the cylinder to swing out for loading and unloading. This is the Old Style version (part JB3006A) — distinct from the New Style (JB3006) — and is correct for earlier production Model 30 revolvers. An essential find for gunsmiths restoring vintage .32 S&W Long Hand Ejectors.
