This is a used, factory original Smith & Wesson cylinder stop and spring for J Frame revolvers (new style MIM production). The cylinder stop engages the cylinder notches to lock the cylinder in alignment with the barrel at the moment of firing. A worn or broken cylinder stop will cause cylinder timing issues and prevent the revolver from firing safely. This MIM-style part fits the wide range of new-style J Frame models listed below.
