Model Compatibility:

This old-style, screw-retained black thumb piece & nut was used across N-Frame revolvers built prior to Smith & Wesson's MIM parts transition. Based on verified frame and era fitment, it is compatible with:

  • Model 27 (pre-MIM, dash 27 through 27-2, approx. 1935-1970s)
  • Model 28 Highway Patrolman (pre-MIM, dash 28 through 28-2, approx. 1954-1986)
  • Model 29 (pre-MIM, dash 29 through 29-2, approx. 1955-1970s)
  • Model 57 (pre-MIM, dash 57 through 57-1, approx. 1964-1970s)
  • Model 58 (pre-MIM, approx. 1964-1970s)

Not compatible with later MIM-era or internal-lock N-Frame revolvers (dash -3 and higher on most of these models, or post-1997 production), which use a different-style thumb piece.
