Smith & Wesson Model 51 J Frame Side Plate Blue Steel .22 Magnum, Part# 51152
Smith & Wesson Model 51 Side Plate – Part# 51152
This is a genuine factory Smith & Wesson side plate for the J Frame Model 51 revolver chambered in .22 Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR). An old-style used blue steel part in serviceable condition — a cost-effective solution for replacing a damaged, cracked, or missing side plate on your Model 51.
The side plate covers and protects the internal lock work of the revolver. It must be properly seated and secured to ensure safe, reliable function. A damaged or ill-fitting side plate can allow debris into the action and compromise internal component retention.

Note: The Model 51 is chambered in .22 Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR) — not .22 LR. This side plate is blue steel finish — not compatible with stainless J Frame revolvers. Side plates are frame-specific and finish-specific. Always confirm your exact model and finish before ordering. Model numbers are stamped on the frame behind the yoke when the cylinder is swung out.
Installation
Do not pry the side plate — remove the screws and rap the grip sharply with a rubber mallet to free it. Reinstall carefully to avoid damaging the frame. We recommend installation by a qualified gunsmith if you are unfamiliar with J Frame disassembly.
