This is a factory original Smith & Wesson hammer strut pin for 1911 platform pistols. The hammer strut pin retains the hammer strut within the hammer body, allowing the strut to pivot and compress the mainspring during the firing cycle. A missing or damaged strut pin will cause the hammer strut to separate from the hammer, resulting in a complete failure to fire. This blue steel replacement restores factory-spec function.
