Genuine OEM Smith & Wesson blue steel thumb piece and nut pulled from a K Frame Model 12 Airweight revolver. Old style configuration. The thumb piece (also called the cylinder release latch) is the lever on the left side of the frame that, when pressed forward, releases the cylinder to swing out for loading and unloading. The nut secures the thumb piece to the frame. A worn, bent, or broken thumb piece or nut can prevent the cylinder from releasing or cause it to release unintentionally.
