This is an authentic Smith & Wesson factory hammer designed specifically for K Frame rimfire revolvers. The hammer is a critical fire control component that strikes the firing pin to ignite the primer. This old-style hammer features a .375" target spur for improved cocking control.

IMPORTANT Compatibility Note: This hammer is designed ONLY for K Frame rimfire revolvers (Models 17, 18, 48, 617, 648, K22). Rimfire hammers have a different firing pin configuration and are NOT interchangeable with centerfire K Frame models (10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 64, 65, 66, 67). All other K Frame internal parts are interchangeable between rimfire and centerfire, but the hammer is the exception.
