Function
Pulling the trigger rotates the cylinder through the hand, cocks the hammer in double action, and releases it to fire. The torsion spring tensions the hand and the trigger lever connects the trigger to the rebound slide, so keeping these parts together helps them fit and function correctly.

About the Model 18
Introduced in 1949 as the K-22 Masterpiece, the Model 18 Combat Masterpiece is a .22 LR target revolver on the medium K Frame, with adjustable sights, a 6-shot cylinder, and 4 or 6 inch barrels. It shares the handling of centerfire K Frames while being cheap to shoot, which makes it a favorite for training and target work.
How to Identify Your S&W Model
Swing out the cylinder and check behind the yoke on the frame for the stamped model number. You should see "18" or a dash variant such as "18-1" or "18-2". Model numbers began in 1957-58, so a revolver without one may be a pre-model K-22. Contact us with your serial number if you need help.
Condition Notes
Used OEM assembly removed from a functioning Model 18. Normal wear consistent with use, engagement surfaces inspected for excessive wear or damage, grooves sharp and well defined. The case hardened finish may show minor wear.
