Function

When you pull the trigger, the rebound slide moves forward to allow trigger travel. When you release it, the rebound spring pushes the slide back and resets the trigger. A worn rebound slide can cause a gritty pull, inconsistent reset, or trigger binding, and it is a wear item that may need replacing after heavy use.

About the Model 16

The Model 16 is a medium K Frame revolver chambered in .32 H&R Magnum that also fires .32 S&W Long, with a 6-shot cylinder. The K Frame weight makes the already mild .32 Magnum easy to shoot, which suits target work and long practice sessions.

How to Identify Your S&W Model

Swing out the cylinder and check behind the yoke on the frame for the stamped model number. You should see "16" or a dash variant such as "16-1" or "16-2". Model numbers began in 1957-58. Contact us with your serial number if you need help confirming the right part for your variant.

Condition Notes

Used OEM assembly removed from a functioning Model 16. Normal wear consistent with use, surfaces inspected for excessive wear or damage, spring tension good. May show finish wear or handling marks typical of fired revolvers.
