About the Model 13

Introduced in 1974, the Model 13 is a heavy-barrel, fixed-sight K Frame service revolver chambered in .357 Magnum that also fires .38 Special. It was a police standard through the 1970s and 80s, essentially the fixed-sight counterpart to the adjustable-sight Model 19 Combat Magnum.

How to Identify Your S&W Model

Swing out the cylinder and check behind the yoke on the frame for the stamped model number. You should see "13" or a dash variant such as "13-1" or "13-2". Model numbers began in 1957-58. Contact us with your serial number if you need help.

Condition Notes

Used OEM trigger removed from a functioning Model 13. Professionally cleaned and inspected, engagement surfaces checked for excessive wear or damage, grooves sharp and well defined. The black finish may show minor wear typical of service revolvers.

Installation Notes
