Smith & Wesson K22 Masterpiece Thumb Piece & Nut Assembly — 4-Screw, Blue Steel, Used

Part #K22-4 | Used | K Frame | K22 Masterpiece (4-Screw) | .22 LR | Complete Assembly | Blue Steel

Genuine Smith & Wesson used thumb piece and retaining nut assembly for the pre-model-number K22 Masterpiece revolver. This listing is for the complete assembly — includes both the cylinder release thumb piece and the retaining nut that secures it to the frame. The thumb piece is the latch you push forward to unlock and swing out the cylinder; the nut retains it on the frame stud. A worn, damaged, or missing thumb piece or nut prevents the cylinder from opening or causes it to open unintentionally under recoil.

The K22 Masterpiece was S&W’s precision .22 LR target revolver on the K Frame, introduced in 1931. When S&W adopted the model numbering system in 1957–58, the K22 became the Model 17. This assembly fits the earlier 4-screw side plate configuration (pre-1957 production). Post-1957 K Frame revolvers use a 3-screw configuration; thumb piece geometry may differ — verify your side plate screw count before ordering.

Used Condition: Genuine used OEM part. Expect normal handling marks and finish wear consistent with a used external/action component. Blue steel finish. Inspected for mechanical soundness before listing. Cosmetic condition varies.

Compatible Models

  • Pre-model-number (pre-1957): K22 Masterpiece (4-screw configuration)
  • Early Model 17 (verify fitment): Early production Model 17 may share 4-screw geometry; confirm screw count on your side plate before ordering
