Genuine Smith & Wesson OEM stirrup spring and swivel for the J Frame Model 642 Airweight revolver chambered in .38 Special. The stirrup spring and swivel are components of the hammer stirrup assembly — the linkage that connects the trigger to the hammer in the double-action mechanism. The spring provides the return tension that resets the stirrup after each trigger pull, while the swivel allows the stirrup to pivot as the trigger and hammer cycle. A worn or broken stirrup spring causes inconsistent trigger pull weight or failure to reset in double-action mode. Stainless steel construction to match the Model 642's original configuration. This used OEM set is removed from a used firearm and in good working condition, manufactured to original S&W specifications and tolerances.
